Michelle Langer
At the age of 60, Michelle “Missy” Langer built a life on her own terms—one she was proud to live.
Ohio provided the backdrop for Missy’s childhood and carried her through her high school graduation. However, it was memorable family vacations to Virginia Beach that led her to falling in love with the city she would one day call home.
Twenty years ago, Missy decided to make the move to Virginia Beach; a place she remembered so fondly. She maintained a charming townhome with a well-manicured lawn that she cultivated herself. She dedicated the last 12 years of her life to meeting the needs of residents as an administrative assistant with the City’s Public Utilities department.
Friends and family agree that although Missy’s usual speaking voice was gentle and sweet, it was no match for the chants and celebration you would experience in her presence as she cheered her Pittsburgh Steelers to a win. She was also a huge fan of the University of Michigan Wolverines. And although her sporting allegiance may have been divided, her loved ones confess that her heart belonged to only one—and his name is Sir Paul McCartney of The Beatles.
She was predeceased by her parents, Herman F. Langer and Beverly J. Moulton Langer, and is survived by her siblings; Deborah Borato (Ron) and Herman F. “Fred” Langer (Kim), nieces and nephews; Stephanie N. Vlahovic (Rad), Casey L. garner and Anton F. Langer (Tabetha); as well as her great-nephews Alexander Vlahovic, her close friend Ruth Tilley and many other loved ones and extended family.
Missy was well-liked, she remains well-loved and most certainly—missed.
